Endoscopic minimally invasive repair surgery of the mitral and tricuspid valves
Endoscopic minimally invasive repair surgery of the mitral and tricuspid valves with a repair rate of more than 96% in degenerative disease
As evidenced by the international literature, the repair of the native valve in patients with degenerative mitral valve disease represents the treatment that guarantees the best prognosis both in terms of hospitalisation time and in the long term.
Through a minithoracotomy, periareolar or axillary surgical access of about 2-3 cm, thus without affecting the bones of the sternum, but separating the soft tissues, it is possible to perform the repair of the mitral and/or tricuspid valve.
The endoscope that guides the surgeon’s vision is introduced through a minimal incision (of a few millimetres).
The final result is extremely functional, preserving the respiratory mechanics with minimal discomfort for the patient; there is also an excellent aesthetic result (scars are almost invisible).
By further reducing surgical trauma, endoscopic procedures underline the already known advantages of minimally invasive surgery.
