Thanks to an agreement with the “Staffetti” Comprehensive Institute of Massa 2, a bona fide educational activity for school-age children hospitalised in the Paediatric Ward is active within the Massa Heart Hospital.
The in-hospital school approaches the reality of hospitalised children with the utmost respect for their illness and with the profound awareness that these patients are first and foremost children.

The main aim of our school is to create a link between the hospital environment and the outside world, trying to reduce the isolation of our young patients, to help them in a difficult situation of physical and psychological suffering: the presence of the teacher, alongside the traditional hospital staff, reassures the child and “normalises” their daily life, while guiding them on an educational level.

The school activity takes into account the physical and psychological condition of the individual patients, and is carried out in coherence with the timetable of the healthcare activities provided, envisaging, when possible, not only an individualised relationship, but also work in small groups made up of children of more or less the same age.

You can park in the designated spaces without any payment and for as long as necessary. Please note that vehicle access to the parking area is reserved exclusively for users of hospital services, suppliers and staff working there for the time strictly necessary.
Please park in the parking spaces provided, otherwise the vehicle may be forcibly removed at the owner’s expense.

The area is not guarded, therefore parking vehicles in the area does not entail the Hospital administration taking custody of them and it will not be liable for any theft or damage.

For the disabled, in the vicinity of the entrance, there are special parking spaces marked with yellow stripes and the appropriate symbol.

The Fondazione Toscana Gabriele Monasterio (FTGM) offers its patients and guests the possibility to access, free of charge, high-speed Internet through its own Wi-Fi hotspot service.

How to use it
Each establishment of the Foundation provides a Wi-Fi network for guests.

To access the service, simply have a mobile device with Wi-Fi connection (tablet, notebook, smartphone) and, once connected to the network, register with your mobile number to the Foundation’s hot-spot service. Registration will allow you to access the Internet for a whole day.

The document detailing the procedure to be followed to obtain the connection is available at the concierges of the two facilities.

The Project
The activation and extension of the guest Wi-Fi service to the FTGM hospital facilities in Pisa and Massa represents an important step forward in the provision of cutting-edge technological services contained in the hospital’s development plan.

The offer of new value-added services is intended to improve “patients’ and guests’ lives”. The project, which is the natural continuation of the experimentation started about a year ago, was activated at zero cost thanks to the use of existing infrastructure and open source solutions.

All guests and, in particular, inpatients will be able to feel closer to their loved ones through the possibility of making video calls or using instant-messaging solutions that take advantage of Wi-Fi connectivity.
