ICT

Taking the lead of previous activities developed within National Research Council, started in 1995 with the development of early IT system to support both research and healthcare provision, FTGM since the beginning continued to work on eHealth field, aiming to model and develop a Holistic system for patient care and administrative management of a Research Hospital and Healthcare provider. Such developments led to the production and use of a complex EHR system evolved over time up the current eighth generation, used in FTGM Hospitals and 17 other Hospitals in Italy.
The EHR system is active to manage every aspect of healthcare processes, allowing a cutting edge ICT support in critical processes such as drug prescriptions, surgical procedure performing, lab examinations and instrumental examinations, towards the best solution for patient’s safety, healthcare provision and research.
Enabling factor for clinical research and data driven research of FTGM and research partners and sponsors, ICT expertise in FTGM is recognized in many research grants obtained in regional, national and European level, and collaboration with WHO in projects centered on patient safety.
FTGM is active also in standards modeling and developments, as member of HL7 and IHE, and is involved in national and international research initiatives such As RDA.
